Please Note that these Betting Rules are applicable to all/any Stores around the Country related to  Atlantic SportsBet CC, Sepels Best Bets CC and SepelsSportsBet and/or any premises related/licenced to the Group and/or any of the Members. All bets will be struck in accordance with the applicable Provincial Gambling Board and National Gambling Board legislation.


RUGBY


All rugby betting includes injury time but not extra time unless otherwise stated.


SPREADS


Supremacy


SportsBet predicts which team will win the match and by how many points. The stop loss on the market is 40 points.


As an example the Stormers are playing the Sharks at Newlands.  We set the supremacy at Stormers/Sharks 4 – 7.  You now have two choices.  The first option is to bet that the Stormers will win the game by more than 7 points;  to take this option you go high at 7.  The second option is to bet that the Stormers will win by less than 4 points or the Sharks will win the game;  to take this option  you go low at 4.


As an example, assume you go low on the supremacy at 4 for R10 per point.  You believe that the Sharks will do better than we predict.  The final result is the Stormers win by 16 points.  The bet is settled at (4 – 16) x R10 = R120 loss.


If the result had been the Sharks by 16 the profit would have been


(4 – (-16) x R10 = R200


Home/Away Supremacy


This is a combination bet on the nominated games.  The result is calculated by adding up the points scored by the home sides and the points scored by the away sides and subtracting the two.  The stop loss on this market is 80 points.


Total Points


This is a spread on the total points scored in the match, i.e. the scores of the two teams added together.  Stop loss is 40 points.


Time of 1st Try


This is a spread on the minute in which the first try in the match will be scored.  Penalty tries are included.


If 3 minutes and 45 seconds have elapsed then the try is scored in the 4th minute.  If no try is scored then the make-up is 80.  This is the maximum make-up for the bet and used in place of a stop loss/win.  The minimum make up is 0 and the maximum is 80.  If no try is scored in the first half then the quote is updated at half time.  This bet is not quoted in running.


The Tv Clock as shown on South African TV will be used to determine the time of the first try.


Shirt Numbers


This spread is calculated by adding up all the jersey numbers of the tryscorers in the match.  A penalty try counts 8 points towards this spread.  The stop loss for this market is 40 points and an updated quote is given at half time.


If a player changes his jersey his original number will apply.  If a player starts the match with a Jersey number that is inconsistent with his position, then the correct number for that position will apply.  The maximum jersey number is 23.


Amount of Tries


This is a quote on the amount of tries scored in the match.  The stop win/loss on this market is 6.


Betting in Running


Only Supremacy, Handicap, Outright and Total Points are quoted in running.  The other markets are all quoted on live matches and most are updated at the half time break.  Where a match is not shown live only Supremacy and Total Points will be quoted.  No bets will then be placed after the scheduled start time of the match.


Extra Time


All Quotes are for 80 minutes of play.  Injury time is considered to be part of the 80 minutes of play.  The 1st half ends after 40 minutes and the match ends after 80 minutes.  Any points scored during injury time are considered to be scored in the 40th or 80th minute respectively and form part of the 80 minute match.


Any extra time played to separate teams after a draw in the knockout stage of a competition do not count for any of the 80 minute quotes.  Separate quotes will be given for cases where extra time is played.


Percentage Win Index


The index is quoted between 0 and 100.  The spread relates to the quoted teams chance of winning the game.  A win is settled at 100, while any other result is settled at 0.  The spread is quoted in-running.  There is a minimum make up of 0 and a maximum make up of 100.


As an example England are playing SA at Twickenham.  Enland are favourites and the England Percentage Win Index is quoted at 62 – 72.  If you believe England have a better than 72% chance of winning the game then you go high at 72.  If you believe their chances are less than 62% you go low at 62.  This is equivalent to backing South Africa or the draw.  As the match progresses the quote will move up or down according to Englands chance of winning.  An early SA try would bring the quote down to around 45 – 55, while an early England try would push it up.


A percentage Win Index is not quoted on the underdog and draw as this would simply be the inverse of the quote on the favourite.  In the example above a low bet at 62 on England is the same as a high bet on SA at 38.


 FIXED ODDS


All fixed odds bets in rugby apply to 80 minutes play (or 15 minutes play for IRB 7's) and injury time as per the spreads rule.  Any extra time is not included.  If a match is postponed before kick off and played within 48 hours of the original start time all bets will stand.  Bets on any match that is abandoned or postponed after the kick off are void.


Outright Win


This is a Bet on the result of a match.  In the event of a draw bets on both teams are losers and bets on the draw are winners.


Handicap Win


SportBet may offer several handicap bets on a rugby match.  The result of the bets is determined after the handicapped team’s score.  A handicap draw result or a 0.5 point handicap is quoted for all handicap bets.


For example the Stormers are quoted at (-7) against the Sharks.  The final result of the match is 23 – 18 to the Stormers.  After handicapping the Stormers with 7 points the result is a 16 – 18 win to the Sharks.  If you had backed the Stormers or the draw on handicap you would be a loser.  If you had backed the Sharks you would be winner.


SportsBet may offer a range off handicap bets on live matches.  The greater the handicap  against your choice, the better the price you receive.  The greater the handicap in favour of your choice, the shorter the price you receive.  The draw option is quoted in every case.


Draw No Bet


This is a bet where you can select the winner of the match in regular time.  Should the result be a draw then all bets are refunded/voided.


Race to 10 Points


This is a bet on which team will score ten (10) points first.  If neither team scores ten (10) points, then all bets on this market are void.


Winning Margins


This is a bet where you can select which margin you believe a team will win by.  For example if you believe that Sharks vs WP, that Sharks are going to beat WP by 7 points, then you will select the Sharks between 6-10 points.  In the event of a draw, all bets will be refunded.


First Scoring Play


This is a bet where you can select how the first points of the match are scored.  Should there be an unlikely result that no points have been scored, all bets will be refunded.


First Team to Score


This is a bet where you can select which team will score the first points of the match.  The manner in which the points are allocated is immaterial, it will simply be resulted on the first team with points on the board.  Should there be no points scored in the match then bets will be refunded.


First Half Result


This is a bet where you can select what the result of a rugby match will be at halftime.  All bets include injury time.


Highest Scoring Half


This is a bet where you can select which half of the match will produce the most scoring points.  The manner in which the points are allocated is immaterial, it is simply based on the the match result.  You will be able to choose either 1st half, 2nd half or equal scoring halves.



Halftime Handicap


This is a bet where you can select the handicap on the match at half time.  You will be given a choice between two selections (namely for example WP -7.5 and Sharks +7.5) with a half a point added onto the quote to assure a result. 


Halftime/Fulltime Result


This is a bet where you can select which team will be ahead and half time and at fulltime.  For example if you select Sharks Western Province then you are predicting that the Sharks will be leading the match at halftime and that WP will win the match.  You will see you will be able to select the combinations between the teams and then you will also be given a "any other result" bet which would allow for tied scores etc.


1st Stoppage in Play


This is a bet where you can select what the first stoppage in play will be.  ie LineOut/ThrowIn etc.  It is important to note in this market that the event of a quick throw in after the ball has gone out is deemed as a stoppage in play. 


1st Try Scorer


This is a bet where you can select the player to score the 1st try in the match.  In this market we do offer no try scorer and you will be given a choice of "any other player".


1st Try Back or Forward


This is a bet where you can select whether the first try of the match will be scored by a back or a forward player.


1st Try Coverted


This is a bet where you can select a "yes" or "no" on whether or not the 1st try of the match will be converted.


2nd Half Handicap


This is a bet where you can select the handicap for the second half of the match.  Please note that this includes injury time but not any extra time.  The result of the second half handicap is solely determined by the score of the second half.


Position of 1st Try Scorer


This is a bet where you can select the position of the player who scores the first try of the match.  Please note that "no try" is also quoted in this market.


Team to Score First Try


This is a bet on which team will score the first try of the match.  Please note that "no try" is also quoted in this market.


Team to Score Last


This is a bet on which team will put the last points on the board.  The method of scoring in this market is immaterial.  Please note that this bet is based on 80 minutes of play and includes any injury time but no extra time.


Will there be a yellow card?


This is a "yes" or "no" bet on whether a yellow card will be issued in the match.  Please note that this bet is based on 80 minutes of play and includes any injury time but no extra time.


Winning Margins to 12.5 Points


This is a market where you can select the winning margins to 12.5 points.  Please note that the draw is quoted in the betting on this market and applies to a draw in the result of the match.


Will one team win both halves?


This is a market where you can select whether or not one team will win both halves. Whoever scores the most points in that half will be deemed the winner of that half.  Please not that this is not the same as halftime/fulltime.  As the name suggests this is a market where you can select a "yes" or a "no". 


Total Match Points Odd/Even


This is a market where you can select whether the total points in the match for both teams combined results in an odd or an even number. 


Will there be a drop goal?


This is a market where you can select a "yes" or "no" on whether you think there will be a drop goal in the match or not.


1st Place Kick at Goal?


This is a market where you can select whether or not you think the 1st place kick at goal (penalty or conversion) will be a "miss" or "successful".
